Shoe Bites: Bag my Beauty

Will you forgive me if I tempt you with my favourite bags from by comparing them to the hottest beauty looks from the runways? I wanted to do something a little different with my posts and hope you like this piece. The bag you see above from Vitasta, who is known for her antler bag, reminded me of this very strong cat eye look from DSquared. I’ve wanted this bag since I saw Shivan Bhatiya (from Shivan & Narresh) walk into the airport with a large antler duffel bag by the same brand, talk about envy!

Lost city & Roberto Cavalli

We all need a little disco right? Well this bag by Lost City brings that Studio 54 vibe with it. I’m not one to go over the top, but the eye make up at Roberto Cavalli is perfect to match this bag. While it’s not a look I’d suggest for day, it’ll work for that party weekend you have planned. Plus have you ever heard of matching your eye shadow to your bag – Can I say fashion genius?!

Princess K, Victor & Rolf

Two things you have to have for the office this season. One, a great mini-messenger bag like Princesse K’s in the picture above. Secondly, a deep hued berry lip stain or lipstick like the one we saw at Viktor & Rolf. It’s a shade that is professional for the office and sensual for night. We all need day to night essentials and I’ve just given you my two suggestions. Lucky you!

cupidity, chloe

Just like me, you might not be able to rock a completely stark no make-up look like we saw at Chloé, but you can go nude with a wardrobe staple.  This one from Cupidity will go with anything you own in your closet, and you’ll find that you’ll be using it… A lot!

Vitasta, Anna SUi

I can’t get enough of Coral, I’ve got dresses, shoes, make up and even wide leg trousers in this colour! I do have a coral clutch, but this contemporary one by Vitasta is begging to be bought. Anna Sui does a near perfect all Coral inspired beauty look, that’s fresh and youthful. I’m going to try this out soon, hopefully it’ll be a success.

For Pret-Amoda – What the Swish Set are Wearing

If like me you love to shop online, you have probably already been onto the Pretamoda site. If not, do check out my blog posts and their products, you won’t be disappointed (oh and they ship worldwide, even to the Phillipines!).

Fashion is definitely what you make of it, you really shouldn’t follow trends to the tee. In fact at the recent store launch of Shivan & Narresh in Mumbai, some of fashion’s most stylish were there and all dressed to express their personality. I’ve decoded some of the elements from their outfits, it’s no surprise that accessories are really what made the difference. Take a look and see what has to offer, they have many items similar to what was seen at the event.

Shoe Bites: Shivan & Narresh are Finally in my City!

Shivan Narresh launch

I’ve been keeping this bottled up ever since they told me at the beginning of the year that they are looking out for store space in Mumbai. Finally last tuesday, after a lifetime of silence (on my part) they finally opened up their doors. This had to be the first Shivan & Narresh event where I wasn’t wearing the label, which would explain why Shivan was giving me the ‘why that top with that skirt’ look. Boys if you reading this, don’t worry now I know where to go get some proper clothes! *hint hint, nudge nudge, wink wink* Continue reading

25. Arina (Apologises for Me!)

I know it’s ridiculous to start a blog and then go missing for, what has it been 3 odd weeks?! I should put in more effort into documenting my love for all this fluff and shoes. I promise to be more regular, but by the end of this post you’ll see what I’ve been happily occupied with.

Since I’ve moved to Mumbai to take up my new role as Head of Fashion for, I’ve been spending all my evenings with Arina and my best bud Sami Savanur. Continue reading

India Resort Fashion Week Day 4, Marbela Beach Bar Tenders Hotter than Sushmita Sen (Say what?)

on our way to marbela

The last day at India Resort Fashion Week 2011 was by far the most fun, as I finally got to be on a beach! Although cooped up in a 5 star resort with some great fashion and all your friends isn’t bad at all, but when in Goa.. Go to the beach, no!? I didn’t manage to get a full length picture of what I was wearing to show you guys, but essentially its this gorgeous sequinned bikini worn with a trapeze blouse from Shivan & Narresh and my yellow linen shorts. Now for the stories, well basically I’m just going to account all that happened, I’m guessing it’s less incriminating that way! Just kidding, nothing scandalous happened (disappointed?). India Resort Fashion Week 2011 Day 3, Pria Kataria Puri’s show and our After Pool Party

pria kataria puri

Doesn’t Surelee Joseph’s legs look AMAZING!

Continuing from Part 1Pria Kataria Puri showed her Persian Punk collection again for IRFW2011, adding a few new pieces but over all the effect was the same. This time though there was more of a focus on short jumpsuits and sequinned bikinis. It would have been nice to see a different print as we’re getting used to seeing this print time and again. Personally I would love to see Pria surprise us by working with some solid colours. If she were to mix her prints and flowly silhouettes with some smart solid jackets and pencil skirts, it would take her collection to a whole new level of high fashion. Having said that, I’m sure she knows just what to do next season to wow us. Continue reading

India Resort Fashion Week 2011 Day 3, Fun On and Off the Runway! Part 1

Shivan & Narresh

As much as I would like to think you readers like my fashion based posts, I know it’s the action off the runway that you really like to read about. Well here is a peak into my life from day 3 at IRFW2011. Didn’t I tell you I was going to wear this dress, well low and behold I did, plus I fit into it perfectly, thank you Shivan & Narresh (muah). Running around in heel-less heels to eating a seriously fatty breakfast, it’ll all about to unfold. To be perfectly honest, the build up to these stories are probably more enticing that the stories themselves!  Continue reading

India Resort Fashion Week 2011, Day 2 – Creepy crawlies, Ken Doll, Nari & my girlies!

day 2 irfw

I knew I’d be dressing up to the nines on the penultimate and last day, so decided to keep it simple with this simple ikkat print dress, that believe it or not was bought from Walmart for all of 10 dollars. What really makes the entire outfit though, is the Shivan & Narresh neckpiece from their latest collection. Yet, as I’ve said countless times before, it’s not about wearing high end designer from head to toe. Adopt a style that’s right for you and work up your confidence, it can charm even the most cynical of fashion minds. Plus we in fashion don’t really care about what people think about us, now do we?

India Resort Fashion Week 2011, Day 1 – How lucky can one girl get?

Since it’s so chaotic here and the other blog posts take more priority, these post are going to be a bit sporadic, so bare with me! but if you want live update then follow all the fashion tweets on @IRFW2011 and mine on @SueCastellino.

blogging bliss

So, yesterday I boarded a flight and headed off to sunny Goa with MissMalini and Team to cover India Resort Fashion Week 2011. I have to say a big THANK YOU to MissMalini for taking me along to cover the event. Not only are we staying at this gorgeous hotel – The Grand Hyatt, Goa, but also because it’s been ages since I’ve done some serious (kindda) fashion blogging (Check out my fashion review on HERE).

Too much Leg!

purple haze

This is what I wore for Day 1 of IRFW 2011, a simple  sequinned dress with some fierce (still unnamed) tan booties both from People are People (Philippines). Now don’t get me wrong, I love mini dresses, but just not on me, I neither have the legs for it or the confidence to pull it off. Although that is reason enough to wear them, just to get over it no? Also I do need to hit the gym, this show of cellulite is embarrassing!  Continue reading
