Iridescent, Psychedelic, Holographic… call it what you want, it’s definitely – Trippy! It’s funny but these luminescent colours are not just synthetic, they occur naturally too, like in bubbles, shell patterns, rocks and even fish scales. It’s beautiful what nature can do, and how we strive to achieve it. These plastic, psychedelic looking materials are very representative of all that was cool in the 90s, and I can’t get enough of them. Whether dark and seductive or bright and groovy, these images are going to take you on a trip.

I’ve been so inspired by Pantone’s colours of the year recently, that I thought it would be great to do a recurring post inspired by colour. Any design student will tell you that after inspiration hits…the most amazing products, clothes, interior spaces etc. all come together from first making a mood board. It is essentially a board filled with pictures, quotes, textiles or colours, that focus on an overall theme.
This Monday I’m crushing on Pantone’s hottest (or should I say coolest) colour cobination – Rose Quartz and Serenity.
