About Me

Hi there,
Welcome to my blog, Elevated Saunterer!

I’m Sue Castellino, an accidental content writer who has always been infatuated with fashion and travel. I gave up many jobs in the Indian fashion industry to follow my dreams of being able to travel, dress stylish and put out content for anyone who needs it.

My love for travel probably stems from the fact that close to 9 years of my childhood were spent on the wide open oceans. Dad being a sailor, mom and I got the unique opportunity to sail the high seas with him. Probably the reason why I feel the most calm when I see those giant waves.

Being the only child on board a Merchant Navy vessel, my only entertainment was child appropriate movies on VHS – having only My Fair Lady and The Sound Of Music available, I was always searching for more to widen my imagination. That’s when fashion happened, or shall I rightly say – Gianni Versace happened.

I still remember it, I was probably around 8 years old when we pulled up along the Sydney Harbour, the Opera House on full view. A treat not many have had since the harbour has now been closed off to massive ships. Being near land meant the antenna on our small 20-inch black and white colour TV, could pick up on some live broadcasting.

That’s when it happened, I saw my first fashion show by none other than Gianni Versace. His bold prints and glamorous gowns that oozed style and sex appeal completely shattered my worldview that was, until then, made up of musical movies.  Keep in mind this was the early 90s when supermodels like Naomi Campbell and Cindy Crawford were mainstays on the runway. I was hooked and have been ever since.

Many happy events have happened since then, but travel and fashion have been always been a constant.

And Now… About the Blog

Way back in 2011, this blog was just an expression of my love for high heels and the parties I would attend in them – hence the name Elevated Saunterer – my idea of a woman in high heels that commands a room. As the years passed by and wisdom kicked in as it normally does in your late 20s, the blog I decided needed to evolve.

It’s now going to be a place where I blog about everything that excites me in a way that can be inspiring. My travels, my likes and dislikes, outfits and occasional spiritual outbursts – everything is done so with absolute honesty. No sugar coating or misleading information, the content on this blog is going to be honest and blunt.

So, follow in my (occasional) high-heeled footsteps as I navigate, sometimes quite literally, what the world and the web have in store for us.

You can definitely see your skills in the work you write. The world hopes for more passionate writers like you who are not afraid to say how they believe. Always follow your heart.
