Monday Mood Board: India Couture Week Special – White and Gold

While sipping away on champagne and catching some rays yesterday, I began to browse through my Instagram feed and what followed was a few hours of fawning over some breath taking designs at India Couture Week. Seems like I’m not the only one obsessed with everything White and Gold, the designers were too. I can’t wait to see brides gravitate even more to this colour scheme, classic and screaming contemporary India, these creations are perfect for the Indian woman. Here is my list of top designs from India Couture Week 2016

Anamika Khanna

It feels like a dream when you see Anamika Khanna’s creations in pictures, I can only imagine what it’s like to be sitting front row. A fluid drape here, cutwork embroidery there and a bit of sparkle to finish off the look – perfect on any woman, any size and any occasion.

Anita Dongre

The queen of feminine bridal, Anita Dongre knows how to make outfits that speaks to a woman’s heart. A touch of royalty and a whole lot of traditional appeal, her collections get stronger each season. There were an array of colours for 2016, but her craftsmanship never looked better than on her classic gold and white gota work lehengas on model Diva Dhawan.

Tarun Tahiliani

Tarun Tahiliani, another stalwart in the India fashion community that always impresses. This particular white and gold stunner is making my heart skip a beat. Any bride wearing this is going to be the bell of the ball. What’s lovely about this, is that it’s completely covered head to toe, yet there’s something so sexy about it! Agree?

Varun Bahl

It was a floral extravaganza with Varun Bahl, which isn’t really my cup of tea. However the FDCI put up this gorgeous detail shot of one of his creations. The moti work and the opaque panelling with delicate sequin fringe is to die for. Any lady (bride or not) would love to wear this sexy number.

Rahul Mishra

Give me a raglan sleeve, peplum top any day! Rahul Mishra is a genius with his craft and this time was no exception. What’s not to love with this modern take on the traditional. Where other designers over design, Mishra shines, really understanding the fabric, embroidery and a woman’s body.
