Shoe Bites: I want a Kim Kardashian-esque Family Christmas Card Too

card of the season

I’ve never really been a poser for photographs, but after seeing the Kardashian Christmas card, I can’t help but want to have one of my own. I would however need some people to pose as my hot siblings, I’m an only child you see. The Kardashians are really being true to their reality tv title with their benchmark family Chirstmas card, that is now in 3D! What next a video?!

so much better

Shoe Bites: Can’t Wait for Dark Knight Rises, I’m a Batman Fan!

Dark Knight Rises

Everybody has their favourite super hero, mine has to be Batman. There is something about his all black outfit, pointy ears, cape and utility belt that made me LOVE him. Plus those amazing cars and gadgets makes him my ultimate hero, no slimey spider webs for me thank you very much. Okay I admit Chritian Bale (George Clooney, Michael Keaton and Val Kilmer) might have had something to do with Batman’s appeal too. Back to the movie; now that the trailer of the Dark Knight Rises has been release and I’ve got glimses of it, I simply can’t wait. Not to forget that joining the cast this time is Anne Hathaway and Marion Cotillard. What an amazing bunch of actors, all in one action packed movie! Are you as eager to see this as I am? Well if you’re not, after watching the trailer below, you will be! Continue reading

India Resort Fashion Week 2011, Day 4, Manish Malhotra and Marbela Memories

movement

Manish Malhotra is known for his commercially viable Indian wear, and no one does it better than him. Many say that Sabyasachi Mukherjee also does superb India wear, but when it comes right down to it, Manish’s vision appeals to the majority. The same can be said about this latest collection at IRFW2011. Although it wasn’t a classic resort wear collection, it was definitely what Manish imagines a sangeet on a beach should look like. The colours were done in sections from pinks to whites to deep reds, a warm palette heavy with metallic accents. As before the anarkalis are still long but not as voluminous. Oddly enough, I wished he would have given us a true resort collection, one that focused on separates rather than a whole outfit. It would have been interesting to see his creativity flourish in other genres of fashion.

The Elevated Saunterer Hearts: Shweta Sharma

shweta sharma

Name: Shweta Sharma
Works as a stylist and fashion editor on fashion based TV programs
A quote she uses often: “No Minutes” (I wrote this down when I interviewed her, but I think i mis-wrote this)
How I met her: Behind the Scenes of MissMalini’s interview with Narendra Kumar at IRFW 2011
My favorite memory with her: Her coaxing/forcing me to interview Louw Kotze for a TV show (i hate being in front of the camera!)

eclectic

Favourite Item in her wardrobe: Green Zara Shorts. She’s worn so many times that she’s worried that one day they might dissolve while int he wash! She also has sentimental value on a necklace that her mentor Mohan Neelakantan gave her.
If she wasn’t doing what she does now, she would: Be sketching with a black Uni ball pen
1st song on her ipod/phone: Constantly by Cliff Richard

India Resort Fashion Week Day 4, Marbela Beach Bar Tenders Hotter than Sushmita Sen (Say what?)

on our way to marbela

The last day at India Resort Fashion Week 2011 was by far the most fun, as I finally got to be on a beach! Although cooped up in a 5 star resort with some great fashion and all your friends isn’t bad at all, but when in Goa.. Go to the beach, no!? I didn’t manage to get a full length picture of what I was wearing to show you guys, but essentially its this gorgeous sequinned bikini worn with a trapeze blouse from Shivan & Narresh and my yellow linen shorts. Now for the stories, well basically I’m just going to account all that happened, I’m guessing it’s less incriminating that way! Just kidding, nothing scandalous happened (disappointed?). Toe Tappers: Warpaint ‘Elephants’

Just like me you may not have heard of this group until today, a friend of mine suggested I listen to it a while back. Being caught up in life as we know it, I didn’t listen today until about 2 hours ago, and ever since, I’ve been listening to them non stop. My favorite song so far, although I still have much to learn about this band is the song Elephants. They’ve been around since 2004, so what have I been doing since then!? The band consists of Emily Kokal who’s vocals give you the chills down you spine. The rest include Theresa Wayman (guitar, vocals), Jenny Lee Lindberg (bass, vocals), and Stella Mozgawa (drums). Their sound may not be everyone’s cuppa joe but it’ll grown on you. I suggest you listen to this one first and then Ashes to Ashes a David Bowie cover.
