Shoe Bites: Congratulations Kourtney Kardashian, The World Needs More Kardashians

Scott Mason and Kourtney

Scott Disick and Kourtney Kardashian are expecting another bundle and all we can say is, Mason better get ready for some sibling fun. If his brother/sister is half as entertaining as the Kardashian siblings I’m sure he’ll be happy (and irritated) for life. I would have loved to hear Khloe and Lamar Odom announce that they were expecting, as their kids are going to be the cutest .. EVER, but we’ll wait for that day.

Toe Tappers: Dualist Inquiry ‘Gravitat’

Before we talk about the song and this musician I just want to tell you a little story of how I learned of this artist. So bare with me! I headed over to my local bar last night called The High Spirits, where they were hosting the Bacardi’s High idol. A great local competition for Pune talent, although me along with a few others (and very tall men) were a bit fed up of all the adele covers. I’m missing the finals which is sad as my friend Waylon D’mello is going to sing california girls in an acoustic arrangement. He chose that song after I made him listen to it trying to help him win the competition, I want to be able to say I have a friend who won Idol, even if it isn’t THE idol.

Shoe Bites: City Girls Can Cook, Here is Proof

Dinner for 1

In my earlier Toe Tapper’s post I wrote about how I cooked dinner for myself, well I suspected not many of you would believe I can actually cook, my mom and dad sure don’t! So here is the proof, a picture and with this picture I declare that city/career girls can also cook! Yes, it’s a simple meal of rice, dal, bhendi fry and karela salad. I know you think yuck, karela salad but try it out. I’m giving you the recipe, make it and let me know what you think. This is a filipino dish, the only think I learnt how to make there!  Continue reading

Toe Tappers: Stan Getz & Joao Gilberto ‘Desafinado’

Today I made myself dinner after the longest time! Since I was out of practice and knew I’d get flustered, I decided to play some calm music. Although in hind sight I was quite with the programme and didn’t really need it. Yet in the background was the soothing sounds of Stan Getz and Joao Gilberto. The laid back melody and feather light vocals really makes for great listening pleasure. I was looking for the english translation of the lyrics, and found a version by George Michael and Gilberto Astrud who did their version of the same song. Now I don’t speak protugese and not sure if it’s a direct translation, but is suspect it is.

Decoding the Runway: Blumarine

groovy baby

I am on the fence about all the shoes that Bluemarine put up for Spring/Summer 2011. Part of me thinks they are are way to whimsical and tacky to be worn, and the other part is screaming saying OMG these are precious. Maybe it’s my love for things from the 70s, I almost imagine these neoprene (or is it just plastic) heels in an Austin Powers movie worn with a mini skirt and a union jack tee, you know what I mean?  Continue reading
